Ms. Sarika Patil was admitted in 2005 in the school, as she was multiple disability with deafness and not a single school was ready to accept her admission. Her parents were very much interested to educate her and therefore we admitted her in our institution.

Sarika is a very talented girl, in functional academics, she didn’t show much interest, but she has excellent skills in origami, art and craft. To develop this talent her teachers taught her various innovative skills in crafts, drawing, warali painting, origami and many other artists. In a short span of time, she learnt to prepare a variety of beautiful and attractive products like flowers, bouquets, wall hangings, Rakhis, greeting cards, she also paints and decorate Diwali diyas, prepare Mehndi cones and also draw Mehandi art etc.

After she became an adult our institution offered her a job and now Sarika is one of the staff members in our institution. She is working as a classroom assistant. She also takes good care of our ID children in the institute and helps teachers in imparting vocational training to them.

During the holidays, Sarika takes orders for drawing Mehndi, Rangoli, flowers and other decorative items on various occasions like engagements, weddings and other events and helps her family by earning money for them.

During Ganesh festival season Sarika also work part-time in small workshops on preparing Ganesh idols, where she decorates Ganesh idols and earn money.

Her parents are very much happy and feel proud about Sarika, she is earning money and supporting their family. In 2017, Sarika was felicitated by giving a ‘Nandini P. Divetia Award’ by Rural Development and Management Institute, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
